Carnival of Cultures is a splendid four-day street festival that celebrates Berlin's multicultural spirit with music and dancing in the city's Kreuzberg district. The Carnival first took place in 1996.
The event has a great community and party atmosphere, and is a definite must-see if you are in town.
Since its inception, it has become an integral part of the culture of Berlin and for a short time infuses a riot of colours into the city's often-grey facades.
The carnival began as a street parade of musicians, dancers, DJs, masqueraders, and has now escalated into a slickly impressive extravaganza with a great programme both on and off-stage.
Carnival groups from more than 70 countries dance through the streets of Berlin's in most known international district, Kreuzberg. At this Carnival of Cultures you will find exotic food and drinks an it will be an atmosphere that you will never forget. You'll find it hard to believe you are so far from the equator.
If you are in this period in Berlin you got to see the Carnival of Cultures because it will be spectacular.
